Countertop Dishwashers
Often space is an issue, particularly in apartments located in cities, thats were countertop dishwashers come into play.
In such kitchens and those in old apartments which were built with the available appliances of the time, it may become necessary to fit a dishwasher into the existing kitchen furniture and space.
While both these factors may prove limiting in as much as kitchen space may be limited, while existing furniture may not have provision for accommodating a dishwasher, the only solution in such cases would be a counter top dishwasher, since kitchen counters are almost always available in most kitchens.
Counter top dishwashers tend to be compact models and also allow for better portability.
With dishwashers equipped with motors to pump water in and out, the options in motor pumps are reversible and direct drive, with one pumping water in and out, while the latter only pumps in one direction, i.e to pump water in, with water being drained out through solenoids and valves.
With
countertop dishwashers obviously being placed at higher levels, water drainage can be easily managed without motor pumps and hence countertop dishwashers tend to be fitted with direct drive motors which are by the way, horizontally mounted. An advantage of this is that energy consumption tends to be lower since water is drained out without the motors, which results in savings on your power bills.
