Built in Cooktops
"Every home has it's own individual unique style that will determine the type of cooktop you purchase "
Two factors have mainly contributed to the demand for
built in cooktops. Firstly, the influx of people in cities have lead to crowding, leading to people occupying smaller flats and apartments, throwing up space management issues.
The second factor concerns a lifestyle change where cooking and dining are now considered leisure activity, which is more and more perceived as a way of enjoying quality time, socializing, or even relaxing. This leads to the encroachment of cooking and kitchen activities into the living room, a phenomenon which has to be justified by aesthetics and superior design and features. Built in cooktops are increasingly found at the center of a dining table and or in the living area.
Built in cooktops that are built into dining furniture facilitate modern dining concepts like ‘fondue’, etc., and provide a platform for creativity and innovation in cooking and dining. The swapping of traditional roles between spouses has also been facilitated by the advances made in the realm of cooking and
cooktops, which now elevate cooking to the level of creative activity, a factor which plays a decisive role in motivating a person to engage in cooking.
It being a fact that today’s perception of beauty tending to lean and fit bodies, today’s cooking eliminates much of the oil and grease present in traditional cooking. This, along with a better understanding of nutrition and nutritional value of foods, leads to increased consumption of fresh food or minimal heat application. Such factors have lead to
cooktops being built into central locations like the dining room or even living area where its functions are limited to the bare minimum.
